    The simmer setting kept blowing itself out on the left side. He cleared a partly blocked orifice and set the low flame at the valve. Carried everything up the back stair without marking the wall once.

    The griddle section stayed stone cold while the rest of the range worked. A cracked igniter, and the safety valve was never opening. He replaced both, then checked the heat across the plate before packing up.
